Chris Chukwunyere is an international development expert with extensive experience in program design, cancer control, global health security, and health systems strengthening. As the City Manager for Abuja at City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), he leads multi-stakeholder initiatives to improve access to quality cancer care in the city.
He has successfully managed projects funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the CDC Foundation, Maryland Department of Health, and other international donors.
Before joining C/Can, Chris worked with Susan G. Komen where he contributed to global cancer care programmes. He also managed grants and special projects at the African Women’s Cancer Awareness Association, where he helped raise over $1 million in funding.
Chris has a graduate degree in Medical Laboratory Science and a Master’s in Business Administration. He is an alumnus of Brown University’s Information Lab, Atlas Corps, and Startingbloc Fellowships.
He is passionate about health equity and committed to leveraging his expertise in public health, resource mobilisation, and strategic partnerships to drive equitable access to cancer care.
