Justin Abbott is an independent board member of the City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) and treasurer of the organisation. Justin professional background is in finance and investment.
He began his career at law firm Slaughter and May, before working for a number of years in mergers and acquisitions at Rothschild & Co. Subsequently he has been an investor, first at Marshall Wace, and after that for a period specialising in investment in Africa, where for a number of years he was a director and chair of the finance committee of Hygeia Nigeria Limited, a leading group of hospitals and health insurance.
He continues to be extensively involved in the not-for-profit sector, having worked for four years at the UCI in Switzerland, has served on the investment committee of CAF Venturesome, and currently chairs the finance committee of the joint venture between the LPGA and the LET.
