The challenge

Lack of training for primary healthcare professionals in early cancer detection leads to delays in diagnosis.

Inequities in hospital cancer care persist due to inconsistent implementation of multidisciplinary teams, impacting the quality and timeliness of treatment access.

The goal

Strengthen early cancer detection by enhancing primary healthcare professionals’ knowledge through existing training programmes.

Implement a multidisciplinary cancer care approach in hospitals managing cancer patient care.

Promote quality assessment of hospital-based cancer services using standardised quality indicators.

The How

Collaborate with public and private universities in the training of last year medical students in cancer care at the primary care level.

Work with the local health ecosystem to develop and implement a multidisciplinary cancer care strategy within public oncology services.

Partner with local health providers and authorities to develop and implement quality standards for cancer care services.
