With over a decade of experience in international development and global health, he has focused on enhancing cancer care service delivery by fostering strategic partnerships and implementing needs-driven technical assistance initiatives across more than 15 low- and middle-income countries.
At City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), he advises on access to quality care issues and leads the Readiness for Access to Oncology Medicines initiative.
Previously, Diogo served as senior manager of technical assistance and partnerships at C/Can and partnerships officer for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) where he designed and managed projects to improve access to cancer care. He also provided expert advisory services to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) on private sector engagement, health-in-all-policies, and access to oncology medicines.
Diogo holds a PharmD from the University of Porto, Portugal, a Master’s in Health Economics, Policy, and Law from Erasmus University, the Netherlands, and a Postgraduate Certificate on Economic Evaluation of Health Care Programmes from the University of York, United Kingdom.
