Cancer is a growing concern in Côte d’Ivoire, with over 21,000 new cases and 14,000 deaths in 2022. In Abidjan alone, 2,884 new cases were recorded. By joining C/Can, the city is taking action to improve access to quality cancer care through local and global collaboration.

Needs and challenges
A multidisciplinary technical committee of local experts and institutions will undertake an analysis of the state of cancer care in the city and identifying essential priorities.
Civil society plays a vital role in building an inclusive, responsive, and accountable health system. We are proud to take part in this transformative initiative and are determined to ensure that the voices of communities—especially those most affected by cancer—are heard and integrated at every stage of the process.
