Dr. Verna Vanderpuye is a Senior Clinical Oncologist at the National Centre for Radiotherapy, Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in breast, sarcoma, genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers, and has researched the particularities of cancer management in Africa. She has mentored numerous young professionals in oncology and is co-chair of the Lancet Commission on Women and Cancer. In addition, she was awarded the ASCO Foundation International Mentoring Award in 2019.
