Elia Lara Lona is the City Manager in León for the City Cancer Challenge (C/Can). She has more than 25 years of experience in public policy implementation, epidemiology and health management at international, national and local level. She is a research professor at the University of Guanajuato and leads initiatives to strengthen cancer care in the city.
Since León joined the City Cancer Challenge in 2019, she has worked with the public and private sectors to improve access to early diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Her goal is to position León as a benchmark city for quality cancer care in the region. She is part of the gender group in the Cities Taking Action initiative.
